Robert Martens

While building Bold Alternatives, Rob has worked on dozens of system designs and installations. Rob looks for ways to use rugged, reliable, proven technologies for his customers' benefit.  Rob achieved the NABCEP Certification as a Solar PV Installer. Prior to founding Bold Alternatives, Rob worked with several area companies (The Lincoln Electric Company, Ariba, KeyBank) launching customer centric sales and engineering programs that aligned client success with financial returns.  Rob proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1987 to 1994.

A Cleveland native, Rob grew up in Shaker Heights, graduated from Miami University, then earned a Master's of Science Degree from San Diego State University. Rob and his wife, Holley, now live in Shaker Heights with their children, Alycia, Charlie and Claire.

Myles Murray

Director of Communications

Myles joined the solar industry when he started graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University. While earning a Masters of Science in Materials Engineering, Myles studied the durability of materials for photovoltaic devices. He also helped start the Solar-Durability-Lifetime-Extension Center under the leadership of Dr. Roger French. Myles attended and presented at conferences like IEEE-Tech, PVSC, InterSolar and MRS, but found his calling in the more hands-on aspects of the solar industry. After finishing his Masters thesis, he started focusing on reducing "soft costs" associated with solar installation.

Outside of work, Myles enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, playing music and pinball.

Jamie Doyle

Jamie enjoys working with clients and showing them the installation process and mechanics of renewable energy. When he's not working you may run into him at a number of local music events.

Jeff Kalt

Jeff has been installing and designing solar arrays since 2010.  Installing renewable energy systems, interacting with customers, and working to further the good name of solar energy is what he enjoys. Thank you for taking the time to see what we at Better Together Solar have to offer!

Carol Galloway

Office Manager/Sales Associate

Carol's concern for the environment and community has led to many opportunities to help make a difference.  Prior to joining Bold Alternatives, she worked as a Senior Program Associate at The Trust for Public Land, serving as the community engagement liaison for the Parks for People and Green Infrastructure programs.  Carol is currently serving on the Boards of Cleveland Housing Network and Union-Miles Development Corporation.  She is involved in her community and served on the Union-Miles Design Review Advisory Committee for the Business Revitalization District, organized various groups in her neighborhood as well as volunteered with the former SHARE Program of NE Ohio. Carol is trained in mediation and attended Tri-C and the University of Akron.

Our Commitment to NE Ohio

Community Education & Training Programs

Because solar is a relatively new technology and unfamiliar to many in Cuyahoga County and throughout Northeast Ohio, we have committed hundreds of hours to classroom and hands-on training for students, residents, governments, fire departments and business owners of Northeast Ohio. Below is a partial list or organizations where we have provided training and consulting services intended to advance the understanding of solar and other renewable energy resources and technologies.
