According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the solar energy sector is on track to experience a whopping 75% increase in power generation from 2023 to 2025. This substantial growth translates into a leap from approximately 163 billion kWh in 2023 to a projected 286 billion kWh in 2025​ according to PV Magazine.


Moreover, in terms of capacity, the U.S. is expected to witness a significant influx of new solar capacity. The total operational solar capacity is forecasted to escalate from 95 GW at the end of 2023 to an impressive 131 GW by the conclusion of 2024​ according to the EIA. This surge in capacity is primarily fueled by the deployment of utility-scale solar projects, which are anticipated to hit 45 GW in 2024, escalating further to about 53 GW in 2025. Additionally, residential and commercial solar projects are set to contribute approximately 8 GW annually during this period​.
