Add Resilience with Battery Storage
Store Power. Cut Costs. Stay Running.
Pairing your solar system with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) gives your business more than just clean energy, it gives you control.
Peak Shaving & Load Management
For many businesses, electricity bills aren’t just about total energy consumed, they’re heavily influenced by demand charges. Demand charges are fees utilities apply based on your highest electricity usage during short peak periods, often when overall grid demand is at its highest, typically mid-afternoon to early evening.

During these peak hours, electricity rates can spike dramatically, sometimes costing several times more per kilowatt-hour than off-peak times. For businesses with equipment or operations that require a lot of power at once (like manufacturing machinery, HVAC systems, or commercial kitchens), this can lead to unexpectedly high monthly bills.

A BESS paired with your solar installation stores excess solar energy generated during the day or pulls energy from the grid during low-cost off-peak hours. Then, during peak hours when electricity is most expensive, the battery discharges stored energy to power your facility.
This approach is called peak shaving.

Completed Projects
Two solar arrays, 940kW and 369kW, were installed to significantly reduce energy costs and support long-term sustainability. This project is Ohio’s largest solar installation to fully complete the REAP lifecycle.

Better Together Solar partnered with Snavely Group and Dimit Architects to bring a 189 kW solar system to Forest City Apartments, offsetting 75 percent of the building’s energy use as part of its green redevelopment.

ForTec Medical’s commitment to innovation goes beyond healthcare. With a 203.2 kW rooftop solar system at their Hudson, Ohio headquarters, they’re investing in clean energy, long-term savings, and a more sustainable future.
